Kei Chikaura grew up in Germany and Japan. He studied Economics and Cinema at the Osaka University. In 2006, Chikaura founded Creataps, a media production company based in Tokyo, and in 2012 he began making films. He directed several music documentaries and did live concert films of some of the most prominent musicians in Japan. His short film The Lasting Persimmon was selected for the competition in Clermont-Ferrand in 2016. He is currently shooting his first feature film.
